On This Day in 1296 The Battle of Dunbar takes place as King Edward I moves to seize control of Scotland the Act of attacking The Scots was punishment to King John Balliol for his refusal to support English military action in France. The result of the battle left many Scottish nobility languishing in English prisons
It also set a spark amongst the people... One man emerged to lead.... WILLIAM WALLACE..
